7 Quick Takes Friday (Vol 37)

1
We attended our third swimming carnival yesterday. Koala was magnificent as a timekeeper. I was so proud of our little girls. Jelly Bean managed to swim 25m of both backstroke and freestyle:) Princess competed in all four strokes; backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle and then she competed in the medley! All four again in a row! Our three boys swam their hardest, did their best and most importantly were good Sportsmen. As a lovely bonus all three won their Age Championships!!

2
Our Border Collie, Elowyn visited the Vet’s today requiring ear surgery.
PC went to collect her and was highly amused to be greeted at reception with, “Here’s Ellie’s Dad”

3
I’m re-reading “The Family Nobody Wanted by Helen Doss.” Written in the 1950s Helen and her husband adopted 12 children of ‘mixed race.’ So humorous and inspiring.

4
I received a black and white laser printer from PC for my birthday:)
We are all so impressed with the speed, cost great too. Only 2c a page!

5
I have lots of thoughts swirling through my head at present; theology, socialization and relationships are all clamouring for reflection and prayer.

6
I am drowning in clutter, I really, really am. However I know it would be more efficient if I wait until the cladding is completed in a few weeks and we have a massive re-organisation. But perhaps I’m wrong, perhaps I should tackle the problem now. What do you think?

7
I’m reflecting how special relationships with your teenage daughters can be:)
Mine is a delight.

So glad your teenage dd is a delight – mine is too and I'm always sorry to hear of others who don't enjoy their dds.

I'm a sort it out now 'cause it is driving me nuts person, but then that's why I moved so many piles of stuff during our 16 months of builders. Just think and live better with less clutter.

    Have a great week.

I'm in the process of a massive de-clutter too. Right now I'm just trying to fill a bag at a time in no particular order, its all I can manage right now, and its GOT to be done!

    How lovely to hear from three new readers!! I've just been over to have a peek at your blogs too, new friends:) welcome{{}}

RE the clutter, I probably am better to start some now so it won't be such a big job when we move the children in to the extensions.

I have never heard of the book you metnioned in #3, but now I want to read it. As a child, I often said I wanted to adopt a child from every nation. At almost 40, I am preganant with my third now, and my son says he wants "sixty" babies, so I guess I better start thinking about adoption! 🙂

"The Family Nobody Wanted " is my ALL TIME FAVORITE book! I first read it when I was 11 years old and have read it at least once a year for the last 27 years! My Husband and I adopted 2 little ones from India and I would love to adopt more if it weren't SO expensive. But if God calls, He will provide ( he did amazing things wit our India adoptio. We walk by Faith…
