A Cosier Library

posted in: Blog, Hearth & Health, In the Library | 6

Originally our library was an inviting place, we then added two new bookcases, this addition however didn’t really work. Whilst it enabled all books to be out of storage it was more a warehouse than a room to read in.

There was barely room to sidle along each bookcase selecting books, as for maintenance, it was impossible. Determined to find a solution I managed to fit all books on the one bookcase and removed the second bookcase.

There is now room for bean bags, to relax and read on. My favourite change is the return of our beloved picture book bins under the window.

Looks much better Erin. This will let more natural light into the house too which is a real bonus this time of year. Well done.

  5. Your library looks great.

I loved the idea of book bins. Our tiny library doesn't have room at the moment – but it has a sofa in there. I think if I replaced the sofa with bean bags I could fit books bins in. Hmmm..

    best wishes, Julie

    Glad you like the improvement:)

Looking forward to your library post!!

It is cosy, although I think they need a few more beans in them.

Your first comment to me!!!!! and about books;) Am I a quirky sister or what, so obesessed about my book bins.

you can start simple with just cardboard boxes, I did. then I found some wooden ones. the children really do find it easier to select and return books this way. and welcome to my blog:)
