    My Daybook: 17th February, 2017

Outside my window… summer days are blazing. Today the temp is 31C/88F and we are so, so grateful for the cooler weather after the weekend’s heatwave. We experienced two days of record breaking heat with the temp in our area at 45C/113F and even hotter in other parts of Australia, around the nation bushfires raged and some townships were sadly lost I am thankful… that my husband and I were recently able to get away for a weekend together, yep just us and it was wonderful! We love our precious children but we try to go away together occasionally, usually about once every four years, to spend quality, uninterrupted time with…

    My Daybook: 11th January, 2017

Outside my window… it’s early morning, enjoying the soft light of the sunrise as it filters across the paddock. Appreciating the morning coolness before the day heats up, it’s going to be an another scorcher of a day, temperature is set to rise to 38C/100F I am thankful… that our boys were able to spend Christmas and the following two weeks at home with us this year. So delighted in having all our children together, watching them interact with each other, spending time with both of them, treasured memories.  Admittedly we didn’t do half of what was on our ‘entertainment’ list the heat wave scorched those plans, though we still managed to fit…

    My Daybook: 12th December, 2016

Outside my window… it’s a quiet summer morning, I’m up early before my family arises as it’s the only time I can concentrate when writing 🙂  Temperature is predicated to rise to 35C/95F today so enjoying the cool of the morning   I am thankful… for my husband, this man, this life, so blessed to be married to my soulmate. We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary this week, twenty four years of married life, we’ve packed so much living into these years, it’s been an adventure. Giving thanks to Our Heavenly Father I am thinking… Christmas shopping; shopping for eleven children, my husband, a couple of sibs and grandmothers takes time. I’ve done…

    My Daybook: 10th November, 2016

Outside my window… it’s a cooler evening, the hot ‘bushfire winds’ from earlier in the week have been broken by fierce thunderstorms I am thankful… to have been able to enjoy the gift of motherhood, I’m most conscious that many women/couples suffer from fertility issues and so I never, ever take this gift for granted I am thinking… about the American election results, so stunned and yet not. Reading around, ‘listening’ to the average American it appears the votes weren’t necessarily a vote for Trump but more a vote against Clinton, a groundswell reaction against corruption. Fascinating Learning all the time… we began our annual bookfeast last week with Leaping into Literature,…

    My Daybook: 6th October, 2016

Outside my window… it’s promising to be a beautiful Spring day, my favourite season of the year I am thankful… for small but steady signs of improved health with a loved one. It’s been a long, hard journey but we’re inching forward I am thinking… about hosting a High Tea party. I often meet interesting women whom I’d like to know more, but in our busy lives today there aren’t many opportunities to stop and pause, relationships take time. So I’m thinking one big party could kickstart/deepen some friendships.  A Mother/Daughter/Grandaughter High Tea seems rather appealing.  First though we need to undertake a massive cleanup around here, the building supplies on our…

    My Daybook: 8th September, 2016

Outside my window… Spring has arrived, my favourite season of the year, I love Spring with its perfect weather and fresh possibilities I am thankful… that our children are blessed to have such a fantastic father, I never, ever take this for granted. He teaches them so much, not only the obvious such as skills, but virtues, more lasting and precious. Totally committed to fatherhood he pours his energies into nurturing our children, modeling how to be great men for our sons, ‘setting the bar’ high for our daughters I am thinking… about priorities and time management.  All About Learning has very generously gifted me with AAR Level 3 to use and review. Obviously…

    My Daybook: 9th August, 2016

Outside my window… early every morning I look out my window to see a mob of kangaroos grazing on the new green shoots. Only nineteen days till the end of Winter, can’t wait for Spring to arrive! 🙂 I am thankful… for Our Heavenly Father who can do all things, He truly can.  I witnessed a miracle this week and I am in awe!  Never again will I underestimate the power of prayer, miracles really happen!! I am thinking… about friendships and how aging maturing is impacting my friendship patterns.  A dear friend and I chatted about this recently, we shared how we treasure our friendships deeply, yet also treasure our solitude, our re-charge times,…

    My Daybook: 14th July, 2016

Outside my window… the sun is rising over a frost covered paddock, I’ll grab my camera in a moment and rush outside trying to capture the brilliant colours. This is my routine most mornings but I haven’t yet managed to successfully capture the glory of the sunrise I am thankful… for good health. This month I had a reminder of how hard it is to function without good health when I sustained a running injury and developed Achilles tendinitis.  Not only was the pain excruciating, the inability to achieve all I need as a mother and homemaker was frustrating.  I hadn’t realised how active I am during the average day…
