    We Have a Baby Boy!!!

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our precious baby boy.  Born 1.12pm on Tuesday afternoon March the 29th, following a 14 hr labour. He  weighs 9lb 10oz, and was 55cm long.  He really is totally handsome, but I’m biased.  We stayed in hospital a couple of nights, receiving excellent care, but were pleased to come home today. He is totally loved and doted upon already, the children all beg to nurse him, there are no shortage of arms held out.  We give thanks to God that all ended well and we received such a  Precious Gift.

    Word for 2011

For the last couple of years I have selected a Word for each year.  This Word represents my focus, direction, desire or motivation for where I feel led in the upcoming year. 2011 will herald an ‘end of an era’ for us.  Our first born, Koala will conclude her formal education at home in December 2011.  So this will be our final year of having all our children learning together, our family dynamics will change forever more.  So my word for 2011 is; Savour which is really interchangeable with Treasure. Interesting to note my previous Words were; Self-Discipline for 2010, and 2009 I chose two, Memories and Habits.

Homeschool Confirmation/ FHC Mass, Einstein’s Big Day

Day 2 Tuesday dawned, the BIG day, and Our Lady’s Birthday. For the past seven years the homeschool children of our diocese have made their First Holy Communion and Confirmation at our Homeschool Camp Mass. All of my children have made their sacraments thus far, with our Bishop, within their homeschool community. (except Koala made her FHC with our parish, a whole ‘nother story;) Today Einstein makes his Confirmation. We are so excited. All of camp attends the Mass held at the local Catholic Church; five of the boys prepare to serve for the Bishop, Michelangelo is one (he is mitre bearer). A few of the girls join to make…

    Mothers Day – And Chomper

Sunday we celebrated Mother’s Day and I had such a special day; I truly felt treasured:) The morning began with a mad dash out the door to get to 8am Mass, therefore I had time to only open one present, just in time to wear it to Mass;) Imagine my surprise as we approached the highway and I saw this: All Saturday the shed resounded with sounds of the saw and I was under strict instructions not to approach. I am so thrilled with my new mailbox, last week the mailman placed book parcels in my box and they got wet! Twice!! I instructed Carpenter to go down and remove…

    New Year’s Party Invitation

Happy New Year:) Last night we celebrated New Year’s Eve with friends, in fact this has been our tradition for the past nine years. Our partying originally started with three families and between us we rotate hosting an annual Christmas party (usually the 20th) and New Year Eve’s party. Over the years our circle has grown and so have the number of children; generally speaking the parties range between 35-50+ people. To the children especially these parties speak tradition. Their important list of must dos includes staying up to midnight and screaming “Happy New Year”. Last night was small, 38 big and little friends celebrating together. New Year is a…
