Wattle Gum Curriculum Foundation Maths

In Foundation Year the Maths strands are; numbers, algebra, measurement, space and statistics. Your child will learn how to make connections between number names and numerals. How to sequence numbers from zero to at least twenty. Counting strategies, adding and taking away. To identify mass and length, naming and sorting shapes.

We encourage using both a formal maths program and the reading of living maths books. Maths concepts and skills are integrated within the storylines. Also, use concrete materials, including board games.
