It may have been the reflectiveness of Holy Week, it may simply be the way boys minds work but on Holy Thursday I overheard these snippets of a conversation between my boys.
“When do you think is the best time to die? I think it would be really good to die in a car crash on your way home from Mass.”
“I want to die a Happy Death.”
“I think it would be better to come out of Confession and die right then.”
“Not straight away, after your Penance is better.”
“Oh yes, after you have said your Penance.”
Don’t children cut right to the heart of the matter, it would indeed be a beautiful way to pass from this life into the arms of Our Heavenly Father.
