Description

At sunset on 31 October 1917, two regiments of the Australian Light Horse charged Turkish troops entrenched outside Beersheba. It was a daring and dangerous strategy, but the Australians rode on to win a victory that was to become a legend in the annals of military history.

The Lighthorsemen tells the story through three young men of the fourth regiment, veterans of Gallipoli, and Dave, the raw recruit. It is a story of courage, of mateship, of the remarkable bond between men and their horses.
