Description

A story based on the real voyage of “The Georgiana”, by an author whose own ancestors were among the crofters who were displaced and had to emigrate from Skye to Australia during the 1850s. The time and setting of Scotland and Australia and on board the ship reveal the hardships and courage of those involved.

In the early 1850s harsh economic conditions on the Isle of Skye force Morag and her family to emigrate to Australia, where they are first bewildered, then fascinated by such a different country.
