I just love watching big brother being gentle with his little sisters. This was taken just before we sat down for our Passover Meal; Carpenter is helping protect the girls’ dresses as we were ready to dash out the door for Holy Thursday night Mass afterwards.

Regardless of age the children in this house love playing ‘dress ups’. Clowns, princesses, fairies, Rangers’, karate experts, Sherlock Holmes we have them all and more. Scarves, hats, shoes and veils can instantly transform outfits from one character to another. Op Shops and garage sales have long supplied the bulk of our dress ups. At Christmas time PC and I were very fortunate when we stumbled across the local costume shop selling old stock for 50c a piece! The dress ups are stored in a cupboard with drawers, hanging space and a mirror on the front verandah. Hours are spent travelling to magical worlds.

Mourning. Waiting.

Some families clean throughout Lent, we save all our cleaning for the first three days of Holy Week. Fortunately the house is small; I always cheer myself with that thought;) Mondays we cleaned the bedrooms, today was the living areas, tomorrow the yard and verandah. Here Koala and Einstein joined up as a team to thoroughly clean the lounge room. Michelangelo used rather more water than necessary to clean the bathroom floor. But if it makes a 9 year old boy happy to clean I’m fine with that. The rest of the team were ‘on the job’ I just didn’t manage to catch them on film. Not long to go…

One evening when I was uploading photos onto the computer this shot appeared. What a lovely surprise! It transpired that Princess had taken this picture, I was very impressed, a beautiful sunset from my 7 year old.

Our dog Ellie (Ellowyn) received a new home today. We have placed her kennel up in the ‘orchard’, it looks rather cute. Ellie is a Border Collie, the runt of the litter, 2 years old now she has stayed small. She has a great nature, happy to just fit in. Part of our everyday living and learning. I know this is not a current photo but it is my favourite of Princess and Ellie when she arrived on Christmas Day 2 years ago.
