Carpenter read a book in one day!

I am so happy I could spin cartwheels:) Carpenter read a book in one day!!
As I was heading off to bed at a quarter to midnight last night I noticed the boys’ bedroom light still on. When I opened the door Carpenter was just closing the book, he looked up at me with a beaming smile and said, “Finished, I’ve read it in one day.”

This is my child that doesn’t read enough, at least not in a reading household like ours. I’ve lately taken time aside from his lessons to alot a half hour reading slot per day. And it seems to be working, this is his fourth book in the last 10 weeks. Meaty books I mean I don’t count Hardy boys as worthy of mention and they are not what I aim for in his ‘reading time’. Yippee!!

It is great when we see our children finally taking an interest in something that we want them too.

I have been coming to your blog for a while now and thought it was time I said hello. Thanks for adding my blog to your sidebar. I have added your blog to my sidebar too.

Wow thanks for ‘speaking up’ I didn’t know you were visiting. I was thrilled to find your blog, I’m always on the look out for Australian Catholic ones, do you know of any I’ve missed?

There are three other’s that I have that you don’t.

Purcell’s chicken voluntary is by another homeschooling mother.

With a grain of salt and the Bob Catholic Show are two Australian Father’s blogs. Both are Catholic Converts.

There is also View from the pews which is from an Australian girl and a girl from Trinidad.

All these blogs are in my sidebar.
