Planning Liturgical Feasts – July to September
For Mary as she asked:
I am in the process of planning out my kindergarten’s academic schedule, this is our first year of home schooling. I am interested in how you are planning out the liturgical year, do you mind sharing your plans?
Despite maintaining Faith Filled Days we have not been consist in celebrating Liturgical Feasts for a long time. Reflecting upon My Truths I realised the missing piece of the puzzle, I need to write my plans.
Where to start? Where else but Faith Filled Days, all I need is there, it is time to utilise it. With the aid of my ‘liturgical year resources’ spreadsheet that PC has helped tweak over the holidays I was ready.
Opening the months of; July, August and September I jotted down the feasts we intend keeping. I also noted the Church’s monthly dedication as I would like to emphasise the Church’s rhythm more. As we have a number of Name days occurring each month, as well as the major feasts, I selected more than initially intended. But this is a good season for me, my oldest is 16, my youngest is nearly two, I don’t have a baby nor am I expecting. My energy level is higher.
I have only planned the next 10 weeks taking us up to the end of our school term and the end of September. If you haven’t celebrated Liturgical Feasts before only select one per month. Small steps.
