    Aussie Book Threads Moving Site

To all my loyal readers I would like to announce that Aussie Book Threads is Moving. As you can view I am too spasmodic in blogging book titles, I feel that a website format would suit far better. I can then have lists up and add comments, information and recommendations as time permits. This way you the reader will receive more information. I am very excited about this move. Head over to Aussie Book Threads at its new home at google pages and see what you think. If you would like to pop back over here and leave comments/suggestions I would be most appreciative. Soon hopefully I will work out…

    Christmas Meme

Therese from Aussie Coffee Shop has tagged me for this Christmas Meme. 1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper. 2. Real tree or artificial? Artificial. We used to have a real but it was always a stress hoping it would survive until the Epiphany. 3. When do you put up the tree? Often the First Week of Advent, although last year we put it up on Gaudette Sunday. We decorate with purple for Advent and on Christmas Eve we will replace the purple with the Christmas decorations. 4. When do you take the tree down? The Feast of the Epiphany. 5. Do you like eggnog? I’ve never had it.…

What Type of Mother are You?

What sort of Mother are you? Here is an interesting quiz. According to this quiz I fit the ‘Tuned In’ mother profile: Your type is: INFP —The “Tuned In” Mother “Inside our children, I believe, is a truth that tells them what’s best for them. I am always listening for that truth.” * Aware, astute, and understanding, the INFP mother is sensitive to her child’s needs, feelings, and perceptions. By observing and listening to the cues of the whole child, she is “tuned in” and naturally develops an intuitive feel for what he or she needs. Responsive and helpful as well, she tends patiently to those needs as they arise.…

    Knightley aka Prince Charming

For all those P&P fans out there it may interest you to know that Prince Charming is indeed a Knightley. Now some woman may prefer Mr Darcy however I always admired Knightley so much so that I married him:) MY Knightley however is a good deal more fun than Austen’s. Thanks to my friend Jennifer for a fun quiz. You scored as Knightley, Your husband/boyfriend is most like Mr. Knightley of Emma! He probably gives you kind lectures to help you in certain matters, though he does these out of true devotion and in your best interests. Others look to him for his wisdom and good sense. He is generous…

    Why Seven Little Australians

Over at 4 Real Learning we have been discussing the meanings behind our blog names. When I was pregnant with my seventh child I looked forward to being able to say I had Seven Little Australians. For those not familiar with Australian literature Seven Little Australians is an Australian classic written in 1894 by Ethel Turner This is her first book of the escapades of a family of seven children. These children are not angels, they are a wild mob but they have touched the hearts of many an Australian. I well remember first reading the book as a child. I loved the children, I laughed with them, was shocked…
