    A Treasured Day

Today is my birthday; it has been a lovely day and I thank my family for making me feel treasured:) The children accomplished all their lessons with no fuss and all day they have been admonishing one another to be on their best behaviour for mum’s birthday. I was treated to our special birthday cereal for breakfast; Einstein spoiled me and made salad sandwiches for lunch served on the best plate, he a wonderful child for the extra touches; Jelly Bean was so excited to make Honey Jumbles with her big sister as a treat for me. We had dinner on the riverbank in town tonight after gymnastic lessons. This…

    Learning All The Time

The holidays have given my boys and younger girls time to build some incredible K’nex creations. They have spent hours and hours building, and learning;) The cement mixer is my personal favourite, the mixer on the back spins as the model is pushed! How amazing is that? A car. A motorbike. An aeroplane. And the king of all, the group effort a very large robot!

    The Gorge

One day whilst he was home we took up trip up to the Gorge with friends. I have always wanted to visit the Gorge since we moved to this town 13 years ago. The Gorge is close to the beginning of our Mighty River. No its not quite the beginning to get there you would have to hike much further. The Gorge is in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and was well worth the hour…

It is best to die after…

It may have been the reflectiveness of Holy Week, it may simply be the way boys minds work but on Holy Thursday I overheard these snippets of a conversation between my boys. “When do you think is the best time to die? I think it would be really good to die in a car crash on your way home from Mass.” “I want to die a Happy Death.” “I think it would be better to come out of Confession and die right then.” “Not straight away, after your Penance is better.” “Oh yes, after you have said your Penance.” Don’t children cut right to the heart of the matter, it…
