April Shower of Photos – Day 26
Just thought I’d share some of the Easter eggs the children painted during Easter Week. It is said that the older you get the more set in your ways you become. Well in my experience children are very set in how things must be done. When they were little we started painting Easter eggs on Holy Saturday. First we blow out the yolk and white, then using ordinary acrylic paints we paint designs. (My dream is that one day Pysanky materials become available in Australia.) For our children this is now a tradition. Yes, speak in a hushed, reverent tone; imagine the reactions I received when I suggested that perhaps we try egg dying instead this year!!!! So painting designs is what we did;) We now have a lovely collection that are placed on the Easter table as a centerpiece. And every year the collection keeps growing.
