Preparing for Battle

The symptoms arrived suddenly this afternoon, no warning at all.  I walked up the hall and instantly knew.  I went from a leisurely stroll through the house to instant command mode in two seconds flat.  Within another three seconds I had a battle plan… It was time to declutter!  The entire house from one end to the other was going to be transformed. The next item on the agenda was to marshal the troops.  There my plans slowed a little, the troops were less than enthusiastic. Undaunted I enlisted the ‘Major’s’ help.  He devised a plan he knew they couldn’t resist.

My family have been most willing to support me in my endeavour to tighten post baby tummy muscles.  They enjoy being the Commando, planning my exercise regime and encouraging me as I ‘push through the pain’.  Their biggest glitch is, I too often come up with excuses as to why I can’t start.   Starting is my biggest stumbling block.  The ‘Major’s’ plan is simple; I have to complete my daily exercise routine before I can enlist the troops in the House Transformation.

Every afternoon I’ll be encouraged to work on reclaiming my tummy muscles, then we work on reclaiming the house. Totally decluttering a room a day,  everything will be assessed, do we need it or do we not?  The troops are happy to be encouraging me  to endure the pain as I work on my abs, not so keen to be working with a mother in full declutter mode.  For me however, I have a win/win situation.

Sounds great! I want to do some serious decluttering this summer (but I guess it's winter where you are). I'm thinking of trying to count it towards some sort of life skills credit for my high school boy.

PC is laughing me due to your innocent question. No I am not arising early to exercise, that would never happen. I'm exercising around midday, with my commando's around me, timing and encouraging me.

Let's see; Time-Management, prioritising, efficiency, Space efficiency, hygiene, home maintaince (where needed). Hey he could catch the bug, become a declutter guru and write a book.

my baby is 18 next month and still trying to reclaim my abs 🙂 (Lost them with a 9lb 7oz first baby)

When you find the key please let us all know.

Will need to heal from surgery before I can switch to de-clutter mode.

Saw a good tip once on tv about de-cluttering the tools in ones kitchen.

Take all your utensils and put them into a box. As you need an item take it out use and put in special place in kitchen. After three – six months take remaining utensils from box and donate to op shop !

I suspect your stomach muscles may resemble mine after all the children. I hope your commando routine is working out for you (bad pun!). As for decluttering … I am still working at that too. Thanks for Rewinding Erin x
