The Fun Continued
After camp we were blessed to have the Maher family from South Australia come back and stay with us for a few days:) The fun continued, the Maher’s were simply the easiest guests, the children visited so well together not a single arguement, and having a houseful of teenagers (nine teens in all) was fascinating. The children attended a drama workshop together on the Saturday. The R family came for the afternoon and most of the girls spent a happy time holding a music fest. Whilst others watched DVDs And the boys and younger girls played multiplayer games on the computer until I chased them outside;) With the Maher…

City Cousins Come to Visit
Last Weekend we were blessed to have PC’s brother, wife and children visit for four days:) We were very excited as they have never stayed with us before. Every day the children played from dawn till well after dusk. Country cousins introduced their city cousin to the delights of mud cuisine and making homemade lemonade with homegrown lemons and copious amounts of sugar. Many an hour was spent playing in the tree house down in the bush. (This impressive construction was made by Michelangelo and Uncle Dominic) Note cousin S. standing next to Jem, he is a couple of months younger but a whole head taller. On the last night…

Christmas Eve
What a busy, preparation filled, expectant day. Baking to be done, house to be tidied, presents to finish wrapping, still more presents to be completed. Keeping a reasonable sense of calm, although when PC came home and confessed that he spent just a little more, I was so grateful, it meant one less present to sew. I even managed to snap a few photos of the children before we headed off to ‘Midnight Mass.’ Midnight Mass in our parish is at 8pm and as the girls sang in the choir this year we headed in a little early. Christmas Mass is such a peaceful, joy filled time with Our Lord.…

Our Local Fun Run
Last weekend four of our children ran in our local fun run. Last year all six older children participated but this year we didn’t train. (Last year the three boys ran 5km) For this reason they opted to only run in the 2km heat. Our runners this year were Carpenter, Michelangelo, Jelly Bean(5) and Jack Jack(3). (Koala ran unofficially as she accompanied the younger two) Truthfully the younger ones ran only 1km. Carpenter impressed us all with placing 3rd overall and taking home a trophy. Well done son:) He tells us he will train next year. Michelangelo placed 16th overall and 4th in his age division. Jelly and Jack were…

Shamelessly Asking for Votes
Our niece Jennifer has entered a modeling competition this year and made it into the grand final!! Wow, so impressive. This will be held in Sydney on 27th Sept. Part of the competition is via online voting. So shameless aunt that I am, if you have a spare moment (okay I know you don’t, but if you could make a moment) could you pop on over and Vote For Jen:) The easiest way is to send an email to:info@sevendigital.com.au and write “Jennifer 115” in the subject field. Voting can be from any unique email address, but you can’t send more that once from same email. I admit it did occur…

Homeschool Confirmation/ FHC Mass, Einstein’s Big Day
Day 2 Tuesday dawned, the BIG day, and Our Lady’s Birthday. For the past seven years the homeschool children of our diocese have made their First Holy Communion and Confirmation at our Homeschool Camp Mass. All of my children have made their sacraments thus far, with our Bishop, within their homeschool community. (except Koala made her FHC with our parish, a whole ‘nother story;) Today Einstein makes his Confirmation. We are so excited. All of camp attends the Mass held at the local Catholic Church; five of the boys prepare to serve for the Bishop, Michelangelo is one (he is mitre bearer). A few of the girls join to make…

Our Annual Catholic Homeschool Camp & Confirmation
Day 1 Last week saw us once again heading to the beach for a week of fun and faith with our families. It was the eighth year that we have c0-hosted the camp. We arrived Monday, before lunch. We have the same cabin as last year, we unload and hurry off to catch up with all; greet old friends, meet new ones. For eight years many of these families have been coming, we meet them but once a year so it is always wonderful to see them. We missed some special friends this year too:( Every afternoon the children have catechetical sessions. This year we once again invited a presenter,…
