7 Quick Takes Friday (Vol 19)
1School holidays start today. Two weeks to relax, time to simply play, to catch up on reading, an opportunity to ponder the direction best for our family to take next term.I’m planning on lots of read alouds, sewing projects and Nature walks, and to start in earnest the Little Saints program. Oh and I have lots of re-organising projects in mind. 2As it was the last day of Term 2 today the children and I spent time assessing the term, what worked, what they enjoyed, what wasn’t so popular. We also spent time discussing what everyone would like to learn next Term.It appears they all enjoyed their Maths and Language…

7 Quick Takes Friday (Vol 18)
1PC has just received his results for his latest CPA exam. I am so proud of him, he earned a high distinction! Considering all the commitments he has, not to mention raising eight children, I think this a very impressive result. 2Whilst I was flying South, PC was attending a work related Conference. A Conference in which he won free accommodation and entry to by being a finalist in a writing competition. And he won!! A beautiful trophy titled New South Wales Local Government Finance Professionals Award. And he is invited back next year to hand over the trophy. 3I’ve been reading lots of Reggio posts and blogs, and pondering…

7 Quick Takes Friday (Vol 17)
1Truly most of my head is taken up with shed ideas at present, I know I’ve already talked about it but I just have to talk some more. I’m fantasizing about these picture book boxes, and these display shelves. PC is promising to make them:) 2Sibling bonding, a very familiar scene around here. 3Jelly Bean’s 5th birthday is in 11 days. She has compiled a birthday present list that includes; scissors, pencils, pretty paper, markers and a whiteboard. An average 5th birthday list?? 4The main reason to have 12 tonnes of road base delivered is for sliding; not to repair the driveway. 5At the risk of sounding boring I am…

7 Quick Takes Friday (Vol 16)
How wonderful it is to be back, I have really missed recording my 7 Quick Takes. Actually last night I was having a browse back over the weeks and realised what a blessing it is to have undertaken this exercise, so much I would have forgotten otherwise. Thank you Jen for hosting this initiative. Well lots to tell.. 1After much deliberation and checking alternatives PC and I have finally made a decision to build a shed. The shed is to be our learning room. Currently our learning room is our dining, lounge, study combined and its small. I’m very excited, we are planning on lining and insulating as we are…

7 Quick Takes Friday (Vol 15)
My 7 Quick Takes are very brief this week as I leave tomorrow morning to Go South to visit a Very Special Family for our god-daughter’s baptsim. So today’s post is dedicated to travel preparations. 1New clothes have been purchased; do you know just how cold it is in Tasmania? We will be that much closer to the Pole, brrr. 2I have packed our bags. Jem’s and mine that is, we are the travellers. 3Have camera, spare memory card, batteries and battery re-charger. We have been caught out at too many major family events with no camera. I’m prepared this time. 4A very specially decorated Baptismal Candle is organised (and…

7 Quick Takes Fridays (Vol 14)
1I have just purchased a few outfits for myself for winter. It has been a few seasons since I have bought anything. I can’t begin to tell you how good it feels to have some new winter clothes in my wardrobe. Well technically they aren’t there yet as I will receive them for Mother’s day on Sunday:) 2Talking about clothing, I have enlisted my sons help in losing weight so I can fit back in to my jeans for winter. The boys have taken to this task with enthusiasm and have designed an exercise program that consists of multiple situps, pushups, step routinues, burpees and sprints. I have my own…

7 Quick Takes Friday (Vol 13)
1Last Friday my sister and her husband were blessed with a son. Anthony Michael. Weighing in at 9lb8oz he is a big boy. Remember last week when I was waiting? All did not go well and after a long labour Anthony was delivered by C-section. Coupled with this my sister has ended up with breastfeeding problems that could have been totally avoided if she had been given proper care. Obviously large hospital maternity wards do not have a high rating with me at present. Please, please pray for my sister, I am so proud of her, she is an amazing woman and mother. Love you little sis:) 2It is Anthony’s…

7 Quick Takes Friday (Vol 12)
1My sister Monette’s baby is ten days overdue. Please pray that she goes into labour soon. She does not want to be induced. 2PC went to get a new pair of lenses and came home with contacts as well! 3Please pray for my friend Gae, they desperately need to sell their house. A prospect buyer is deciding on purchase or not this weekend, pray that she chooses to buy Gae’s house. 4Four of the children attended a cartoon workshop run by our local library yesterday. They absolutely loved it and have been cartooning since they got home. 5I have spent half the week up at the shipping container re-organising. It…

7 Quick Take Fridays (Vol 10)
1Einstein turns 12 tomorrow and he is very excited. Following his instructions we have been op-shopping for his presents today with fantastic results! Josiah’s posts have inspired the requests for wool, cotton and leather. Strange presents for a 12yr old boy?! Just in case you think so let me reassure you that he also has asked for a bike and a Play Station Game. We shall see what tomorrow brings. 2It is time for Jem to move from his bassinet into the cot. He is peering over the top of the bassinet, very dangerous, time for a lower base. 3I’m pondering and praying the direction to take with Koala’s education.…
